Crossing Huangpu
Today we decided to experience the Huangpu like a local on board of the ferryboats on Dongjin Line (RMB 2 per person, children is free). It’s a popular line for visitor to the city since it reached Jinling east road and Dongchang road in less than 15 minutes.
The Huangpu River running through Shanghai, divides the city into two parts – Pudong New District and Puxi Area. The three islands of Chongming, Changxing, and Hengsha under the jurisdiction of Shanghai are separated from the main by the Yangtze River.
As many bridges, tunnels, and subways are built, people have much more choices when traveling across the Huangpu River. However, ferryboats with 100-year’s history in Shanghai are still popular choices for pedestrians and cyclists because of their convenience and low price. At present, there are in total 19 ferry lines serving nearly 40 ferry stations along both sides of the Huangpu River, providing links between Pudong and Puxi.
The nice sunny day gave us a clear spectacular view of Pudong sky scrapper, enjoy the photos 🙂

The newest edition of skyscraper in Pudong is the Shanghai Tower (under construction, with cranes) which upon its completion in 2014, the building will rise approximately 632 metres (2,073 ft) and will have 128 stories, with a total floor area of 380,000 m2 (4,090,000 sq ft).
We have arrived in Puxi side, down we go.
